Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RentBase platform ("Platform"), operated by RHOUMA MOHAMED YASSINE ev., registered at Kunigunda útja, 1037 Budapest, Hungary, TVA: 90813519-1-41("Company", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

RentBase is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace that connects individuals who wish to rent out personal items ("Lenders") with individuals who wish to rent those items ("Renters"). We do not own, possess, or control any items listed on the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a legally binding contract to use the Platform. Accounts must be registered in your own name and with accurate information.

RentBase charges a 15% service feeon the total rental amount. This fee is added to the Renter's checkout total and is paid by the Renter on top of the listed daily price.

Lenders receive 100% of their listed daily price. Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect and are typically transferred within 2–5 business days after a completed rental.

To maintain a safe marketplace, all users must complete identity verification before listing items or completing bookings. We use Stripe Identity for this process.

RentBase does not store your government-issued ID documents or selfie photos. Stripe processes this data securely on our behalf. We only receive the verification status (verified, pending, or rejected).

You may not list, rent, or use the Platform for the following:

• Illegal goods, weapons, explosives, or hazardous materials
• Stolen property or items you do not have the right to rent
• Perishable goods, consumables, or pharmaceuticals
• Services (as opposed to tangible items)
• Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to remove listings and suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Bookings are initiated when a Renter submits a request and completes payment. The Lender must confirm or decline the request within the time window specified on the Platform.

Both parties must coordinate pickup and return via the handover workflow. To activate and complete a rental, both parties are required to upload verification photos at pickup and return. This creates a transparent record of the item's condition.

In the event of damage, loss, or a disagreement about the item's condition, either party may open a dispute within the dispute window after return confirmation.

The Lender may file a dispute by providing a detailed description and uploading evidence photos. An admin will review the case, examine the handover photos, and render a decision. The decision may result in partial or full capture of the security deposit.

If a Renter fails to return an item by the agreed return time, the Lender may file a no-return report after the applicable grace period has passed.

The Lender must document contact attempts and provide a description of the situation. Admin will review the report, and the security deposit may be captured in full to compensate the Lender.

RentBase acts solely as an intermediary and is not a party to the rental agreement between Lender and Renter. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform or the rental of any item.

Users rent and lend items entirely at their own risk. Lenders are responsible for ensuring their items are safe and accurately described. Renters are responsible for the proper care and timely return of rented items.

In any event, RentBase's total liability to you shall not exceed the total rental fee paid for the specific booking in question.

All payments for rentals, deposits, and service fees must be processed exclusively through RentBase's integrated Stripe payment system.

Off-platform payments—including cash, bank transfers outside the Platform, or third-party payment apps—are strictly prohibited. Users found arranging or accepting off-platform payments may have their accounts permanently suspended.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hungary.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Budapest, Hungary.
